HookMe is built around three components that each serve a specific purpose.

The sticky backing on the reverse is the foundation of the hold. Unlike adhesives that set hard and permanently bond to a surface, HookMe uses a reusable sticky backing that grips firmly to smooth surfaces while remaining removable and reusable. The full backing needs to make contact with the surface during installation, which is why surface preparation and firm, even pressure during fitting matters. Applying it to a clean, dry surface gives the best hold and makes removal and repositioning cleaner when needed.

The hook arm is made from stainless steel. This is a deliberate material choice for a product designed to live in bathrooms, kitchens and other humid or wet environments. Stainless steel does not rust or deteriorate with regular exposure to moisture, steam or cleaning products, which means HookMe maintains its appearance in everyday use without the surface degradation that affects chrome-plated alternatives over time.

The body sits flush against the wall rather than protruding outward. This is a deliberate design decision — a lower profile means less visual impact on the wall and less chance of catching on things passing the hook. The flat base also distributes the load of whatever is hanging on it more evenly across the sticky backing rather than concentrating it at one point.

The storage hole at the base of the hook arm is sized to fit ScrubMe shower tools directly, which means ScrubMeBody, ScrubMeFace and ScrubMeScalp can hang from HookMe without any additional attachment. It also fits most standard cord or loop attachments used on towels and other bathroom accessories.

HookMe works on smooth, non-porous surfaces including glazed ceramic tiles, glass shower screens, sealed panels, kitchen panels and smooth wooden doors. It will not bond reliably to textured tiles, painted plaster, bare brick, grout or any rough or porous surface.

Suction cup hooks work by creating an airtight seal against a smooth surface. That seal can be affected by steam, moisture, temperature changes or small gaps between the cup and the surface. Over time, this can cause the suction to weaken.

HookMe does not rely on suction. It uses a reusable sticky backing that grips directly to a clean, smooth surface. Because there is no airtight seal to maintain, it is not affected by bathroom steam in the same way as a suction cup hook.

Surface preparation is still important. HookMe will hold best when applied to a clean, dry, smooth surface with no soap residue, grease, dust or moisture. Suitable surfaces include tiles, glass, polished panels, sealed cabinets, kitchen panels and smooth wooden doors.

If HookMe is not holding as expected, remove it, clean the surface thoroughly, allow it to dry fully, then reapply the hook following the installation steps. If the sticky backing has collected dust or residue, rinse it gently with clean water, allow it to air dry, and reapply once the surface is also clean and dry.

HookMe is rated to hold up to 2.2kg on suitable smooth surfaces when correctly fitted. This rating depends on the surface, preparation and how the hook is loaded.

The 2.2kg rating assumes installation on a clean, dry, smooth surface with the full sticky backing making contact. A dusty surface, soap residue, textured tile, damp surface or uneven pressure during fitting can reduce the effective hold.

In practical terms, 2.2kg is suitable for ScrubMe shower tools, hand towels, face cloths, tea towels, lightweight robes and similar everyday items.

For heavier items such as thick bath towels or full-weight dressing gowns, check the weight before use and stay within the 2.2kg limit. Do not overload the hook, as exceeding the rating is one of the most common causes of failure regardless of how well it has been fitted.

HookMe is designed to be wiped clean while in place. Use a damp cloth or mild surface cleaner on the hook itself, then dry it with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths or harsh cleaners, especially around the stainless steel hook and coloured silicone section.

The hook section is made from stainless steel, which helps resist rust in normal bathroom and kitchen use. In humid areas, wiping away soap residue or standing moisture will help keep the hook looking its best.

To remove HookMe, peel slowly from one edge rather than pulling sharply from the front. Slow, steady pressure helps the sticky backing release more cleanly from the surface.

HookMe can be repositioned after removal. Before reapplying, clean the surface, rinse the sticky backing if needed, allow both to dry fully, then press the hook firmly back into position on a suitable smooth surface.
